(1) The test of honesty lies in remaining non corrupt even when one gets fearless opportunity for corruption? How many of us will pass this test with hundred per cent marks? It is very easy to criticise others, but it requires courage to criticise self.
(2) Yes, corruption is cancer to society. But root of this cancer lies within society itself. The corruption within society is an outcome of hidden activism of some scoundrels within human society. It is an under world of such scoundrels. But it is powerful enough to create nuisance within open world.
(3) It cannot be denied that animal instincts are working within human biology although human psychology has one part of higher emotions such as love, kindness, compassion, generosity etc. which all together make human mind a noble soul. But human mind is not just a noble soul. It is a complex mixture of animal mind and noble soul and the components of this complex mixture are not equal in all human persons. This is the reason why the standard of nobility or honesty to equilibrium point of this complex mixture differs from person to person.
(4) The definition of corruption is therefore difficult although our anti corruption laws define corruption in public sense. But corruption can not be only in terms of public conduct. It has to be understood also in terms of private conduct. The human character is both public and private. How many of us are non corrupt in both public and private senses? At least, I am NOT. I am a married person, but watch pornography whenever I get chance and so I am opportunistic and corrupt person. My conduct with my beloved wife is sometimes surgically aggressive and violent and so I am dangerously corrupt. I am non vegetarian eating chicken flesh, goat mutton and fishes of almost all types fully knowing that killing animals of any kind for satisfying food hunger is violence and so I am corrupt. I was consuming liquor, but stopped recently on doctor's advice due to stomach ulcer problem and thus I am selfish and corrupt. I am not punctual in time. I am always late in reaching clients offices as a visiting lawyer although they pay me my professional fee for my visits and so I am corrupt. I remain awake during night when world around me sleeps and I sleep during day time up to noon when world around me remains busy and so I am corrupt. Who is clean in this world hundred per cent in terms of nobility? I do not know. But I am not that clean.
(5) Let all litigants and all advocates become clean and you will see that all judges will become clean. And finally, it is a truth that all are NOT corrupt in strict sense of public corruption. Let us search root of corruption cancer within self. I can only say about myself that yes, I am corrupt, but definitely I am NOT hypocrite. -Adv.B.S.More
