(1) The conscious human mind is caught between two forces viz. (a) material instincts and (b) spiritual emotions. The material instincts reflect lower state of human mind and the spiritual emotions reflect higher state of human mind. For example, lust charged mind is down the earth mind and love filled mind is up the sky mind.
(2) The sound human mind is middle state mind having rational balance or equilibrium between material instincts and spiritual emotions. Only inhuman animals can live just with material instincts and only divine saints having completely renounced material world can live just with spiritual emotions. The true human person has to live with both.
(3) Every human being may try to reach high in spiritual sense with higher emotions such as love, kindness, compassion, generosity etc. and such attempts are natural. But this highly emotional spiritualism has its own limit put by some almighty power which we are not able to sense properly. Some may refer to this power as Nature and some may refer to it as God. But it is beyond reach of mortal beings and hence there is nothing wrong in looking high in sky for that almighty power. -Adv.B.S.More
